As some of you may know, I've been seriously considering the pursuit of animation as a career change. I've been looking at schools off and on, and have been really impressed with the Vancouver Film School. I attended a presentation they held in Denver, and they offered to waive the application fee if I started the process there. I had planned to work on my portfolio a bit before applying, but since it was free, I figured what the hell, right?

Mi cxeestis prezentadon pri tio en Denvero, kaj ili ofertis nuligi la konston de la aplikado se mi komencus aplikigxi tiam. Mi estis planita plibonigi mian aron da montrindaj artajxoj antaux ol peti akceptigxon, sed pro la senpageco, mi opiniis ke nenial diable mi rifuzus tion. Cxu ne?
I don't know how it happened. A lot of the stuff in my portfolio was a bit old, and I didn't think it was that impressive. My transcripts don't exactly show a dedicated course of study, and the references I had them contact don't really know me on a personal level. Yet at the beginning of the week I received news . . .
Mi ne scias, kiel tio okazis. Multe da la artajxoj en mia montrindajxaro estas iom malnovaj, kaj mi ne opiniis ke tio tre impresis. Mia studa historio ne precize montras dedicxan kurson da studo, kaj la homoj, kiujn ili kontaktis por demandi pri mi, ne tre konis min profunde. Sed je la komenco de la semajno, mi ricevis novajxon . . .
I was accepted into the classic animation program at VFS!
Mi akceptigxis en la klasikan animacian programon cxe VFS!
Lots of details remain uncertain (like, how I'm going to pay for the program). But I have until next December to figure all that stuff out. I'm going to become an animator!
Multe da detaloj restas necertaj (ekzemple, kiel mi pagos la programon?). Sed tempo restos ekscii tiajn aferojn gxis la venonta decembro. Mi igxos animaciisto!
